MARC Club Services
MARC operates the W5MRC 2-Meter repeater. The repeater
is located at the East side of 75 & 380 in McKinney, TX. The repeater
operates on a frequency of 146.740 with a negative offset. Use of the repeater
is open to all licensed Amateur Radio operators who have privileges on 2 meters.
Regular repeater users are highly encouraged to become MARC members.
MARC conducts a directed information net each Sunday evening.
The nets start a 8:00 PM local time. Following the net, there is a swap
net for individuals wishing to buy, sell or trade items. We request that
sellers restrict items which are related to Amateur Radio only. Price of
items for sale may be mentioned on the air, but price negotiation should be held
off the air.
MARC conducts a license training class on a
regular basis. These classes are designed for the beginner and cover the
subjects of basic radio theory, rules and regulations.
Upon successful completion of the classes, the students are qualified to pass
the entry level Amateur Radio license test. Regularly scheduled license testing
is also available at the end of the class or from other sources.

On the last Saturday of each
month the members of MARC gather at a restaurant in McKinney for breakfast at
8:00 AM local time. The meeting place is usually discussed on the Sunday
Information Net and/or on the club repeater prior to the breakfast. After
breakfast, at 9:00 AM, the members and friends meet at the northwest corner of
the Collin County Community College campus for the Fourth Saturday Sidewalk
Sale. The campus is located one-half mile west of US75 on Hwy 380.
Everyone is invited to bring surplus electronic and radio equipment to sell, or
view the equipment on sale.
