Field Day 2009
The major annual event for the McKinney Amateur Radio Club is Field Day. This is the one time of the year when Amateur Radio operators and clubs test their stations and emergency preparedness. Clubs also gather and compete to see how many contacts can be made in a 24 hour period. MARC sets up their station in a public area using portable power systems as a test of emergency preparedness.
Field Day is a public event and everyone is encouraged to come by and see what is going on. Field Day 2009 will be held on June 27-28 at the Melissa Municipal Center,
901 SH 121 in Melissa, TX, 75454. The center can be found by taking Hwy 75
North from McKinney about 6 miles to SH 121. Take SH 121 north approximately 0.5 miles and the center is on your left.
