He started the service ONElist in 1998.
ONElist made it easy for people to create, manage, run and find email groups. As it grew over the next two and a half years, they expanded, changed their name to eGroups, and, in the summer of 2000, were acquired by Yahoo.
The service was renamed Yahoo Groups. Mark left the company and then developed Groups.io. It was launched in September, 2014.
He launched Groups.io to bring email groups into the 21st Century.

So.....Because of various issues with Yahoo groups, on December 2, 2017, Dan - W5FRT, with the board’s blessing, moved MARC from Yahoo Groups to Groups.io. So far it works great though it has been a learning curve but appears to be a great match for our club. The future appears to be great for our club MARC. — 73, DAN W5FRT
